Mildred Elaine (Shirley) Hupp, 87, of Topeka, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, August 16, 2014.
Mildred was born May 21, 1927, in Olivet, Kansas, the daughter of Leon and Carrie Shirley.
Mildred was joined in marriage to Henry Hupp on January 18, 1947.
During her life, she was employed by National Reserve Life, Avon, Seymour Foods and retired from Southwestern Bell.
Mildred is survived by her husband, Henry Hupp; son, Greg (Connie) Hupp; daughter-in-law, Kathy Hupp; four sisters, Frances Selig, Lois Higbee, Doris Lusk, Joyce Germann; five grandchildren, Kelly (Todd) Foos, Sarah (J.D.) Warnock, Ian (Kirsten) Hupp, Caitlin Hupp, Sam Hupp; and two great-grandchildren, Elsa and Max. Mildred is preceded in death by her parents, son Douglas Hupp, and brother Bud Shirley.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, August 21, 2014, at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd., Topeka. Interment will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Topeka. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 20, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
