Mildred M."Peggy" Howarth, 89, of Topeka, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, December 6, 2024. She was born June 21, 1935 in Des Moines, Iowa, to Richard and Margaret Heck. At age 3, following the death of her mother, Peggy's maternal Uncle and Aunt, Caroll and Audra Wright, took her in and raised her as their own daughter.
Peggy graduated in 1953 from Abraham Lincoln High School, Des Moines, Iowa. In 1959 she graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Christian Education from Omaha Baptist Bible Institute in Omaha, Nebraska.
Peggy married Gerald E. "Jerry" Howarth on October 2, 1959 in Bellvue, Nebraska. For most of their life together she was a homemaker and pastor's wife. Jerry preceded her in death on August 9, 2023. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother Alfred "Fred" Wright, three brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law.
God graciously entrusted to Jerry and Peggy four wonderful children, Kelly Howarth of Westminster, Colorado; Cyndee (Craig) Whitford of Tecumseh, Kansas; Scott (Mary) Howarth of Bowling Green, Kentucky; and Kristyn Howarth of Littleton, Colorado. God's blessings also include fifteen grandchildren, twin babies Keri and Kris, who preceded her in death, Joshua, Jenni (Johannes), Benjamin (Joy, who preceded her in death), Heather, Matthew (Laura), Jonathan, Staci, Nathan, Justin (Blanca) Hanna (Austin), Mattie (Alex), Noah, Bradley, and ten great-grandchildren, Elias, TT, Prime, Annika, Aidan, Benji, Lloyd, Paris, Kaitlyn, and Caden.
