Minnie Rose (Purcell) Martin, 67, of Topeka passed away August 10, 2014. She was born at Cincinnati, Ohio on December 16, 1946 to Edward Kenneth and Louella Marie (Hahn) Purcell. She was raised in Ohio, Indiana, Suriname in South America, the island of Curacao and Michigan.
She married James Leroy Martin on July 4, 1966 at Denver, Colorado. They were divorced. Minnie was a licensed practical nurse and was employed at Stormont-Vail Medical Center for 39 years before retiring in 2011. Minnie was a member of CrossRoads Wesleyan Church.
She is survived by her daughters Christine Marie Martin and Rebecca Lynne Martin both of Topeka; her three siblings, Tim Purcell and his wife Dawn, Barbara Crockett and her husband Frank and Ed Purcell and his wife Doris; as well as her siblings-in-law, Patricia Martin and Richard Martin and his wife Candy; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and James L. Martin.
Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6-8PM, August 14, 2014 at CrossRoads Wesleyan Church, 2121 SW Harrison, Topeka, KS. 66611. The memorial service will also be held at the church on Friday, August 15, 2014 at 10AM. Private inurnment will be at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.
