Melani (Missy) Creollo, born on January 9, 1976, passed away on April 13, 2025, in Topeka Kansas at her home. While her time with us was far too brief, Missy’s life was rich with meaningful contributions, love, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.
A State of Kansas Licensed Nursing Home Operator, Certified Nursing Assistant, and Certified Medication Assistant, Missy devoted her career to nursing homes, elder care and office management administration, having been employed with Autumn Home Plus Inc. since 2009, ultimately owning the business with her husband. Her commitment to ensuring that everything was very orderly and done correctly showcased her very meticulous nature, but it was her genuine passion for helping others that truly defined her profession. Throughout her career, she cared for many individuals, touching their lives with compassion, love and kindness.
Missy was a very proud mother to her daughters, Mariah Creollo and Mallorie Creollo, and a cherished grandmother to her two granddaughters, Madeline Creollo, Bedelia Rae Collins and her grandson James Fergel II. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she embraced every moment spent with them and loved them very much. She was a loving wife to Jason Creollo, whom she married nearly 29 years ago, supporting him throughout his Naval career as they moved from Fallon Nevada to Gulfport, Mississippi, and ultimately to Topeka, Kansas where they called home.
In addition to her professional achievements, Missy cherished the simple joys of life. She delighted in spending time with her family, enjoying meals together—especially Mexican food—and reveling in their collective happiness. Her hobbies included many crafts, spending time at the lake, camping, and riding motorcycles, with fond memories of time spent with her father, David Phillips, who predeceased her.
Missy's personality shone very brightly; she was caring, bubbly, and outgoing, often described as straightforward in her approach to life. She had a unique affinity for butterflies and enjoyed her tattoos, which she considered a form of therapy. She created a warm and inviting home filled with love and laughter, where family and friends were always welcome.
Missy is survived by her beloved husband, Jason Creollo; her daughters, Mariah Creollo and Mallorie Creollo; her grandchildren, Madeline Creollo, Bedelia Rae Collins and James Fergel II; her brother, Sean and Cheri Phillips; stepfather, Nathan Amboy; mother, Betty Amboy; half-sisters, Anastasia Amboy Birdsell and Katherine Lauderdale and a half-brother Ivan Amboy. Though her sudden passing leaves a very profound absence, her legacy of love and kindness will endure in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Missy Creollo will always be remembered not only for her professional accomplishments but for the deep love she radiated to her family and friends, her ultimate passion for caring for others, and her joyful spirit that brought warmth to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
