Myron Rene Hausheer

Myron Rene Hausheer, M.D., J.D., 78, Topeka, passed away on Friday, January 4, 2013 at Stormont-Vail Hospital. He was born on June 10, 1934 in Lamoni, Iowa to Herman and Bertha Christine (Roberts) Hausheer.
Rene graduated from University of Iowa College of Medicine in 1959. In 1974, he graduated from Washburn University School of Law, on the Dean s Honor Roll. He had a general practice in Western Kansas for several years before moving to Topeka, where he worked at Disability Determination Services for the State of Kansas. He remained there until his death. He was an active member of Community of Christ Church, where he was ordained to the office of Elder and served there until his death. He was also a member of the American Medical Association, Kansas Bar Association, Fellow of American Academy of Family Physicians and Fellow of the American College of Legal Medicine. He was licensed in both Kansas and Iowa.
On August 30, 1967, he married Angelina R. Zimmerman in Ellsworth, Kansas. She survives. He is also survived by his children, Michael (Cathy) Hausheer of Snoqualmie, WA; Michelle Hausheer, M.D. (Russ Fitzgerald, M.D.) of Bentonville, AR; Mark, Kevin and Cherise Hausheer; brother, Maurice Hausheer of Fredericksburg, VA; six grandchildren and daughter-in-law, Susan Hausheer. He was preceded in death by his brother, Herman J. Hausheer, M.D.
A memorial ceremony will be at 10 am, Wednesday, January 9 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel. Private inurnment will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Community of Christ Church, 5252 SW 19th St, Topeka, KS 66604.
