Myrtle M. Jones, 83, of Tecumseh, passed away December 26, 2005.
Myrtle was born December 14, 1922 to Edmond and Edna Wards.
She married Alton W. Jones in 1940. After Alton's service in WWII, they moved to the farm in Melvern where they raised their family. They later retired and moved to Tecumseh in 1994.
Myrtle was an active member of Highland Park Church of Christ.
She is survived by three daughters, Lois and Doug Rosevelt, Margaret and Garry Fluke, and Eunita and Joey Jackson; 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; 1 brother, Ralph and Thelma Wards, and several nieces and nephews.
Mrytle was preceded in death by her husband, Alton, and 2 brothers, Francis and Gene Wards, and 1 sister, Odessa Wards.
A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 29th at Highland Park Church of Christ, 3510 SE Indiana Avenue, Topeka. She will lie in state at 12 Noon on Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel at 29th and Minnesota; the family will receive friends from 5 to 7:00 p.m. that evening.
