Nancy Ann Bowen, 61, of Topeka, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 28, 2022.
She was born October 12, 1960, in Bonner Springs, Kansas, the daughter of David and Betty (Belobrajdic) Schlup. She graduated from Shawnee Heights High School in 1978.
Nancy was a home daycare provider and was eventually employed with public school system because she loved children. When her children began families, she decided to stay home and become a full time Nana.
She had a passion for cooking and made the best Shish Kabobs. Nancy enjoyed entertaining and would often have her family over for family dinners. She also enjoyed planting flowers, being in the pool and playing the piano. She loved dogs and would often spend time playing with her dog Molly.
Nancy married Joseph "Joe" L. Bowen on September 15, 1979 in Topeka, Kansas.
Survivors include a Husband, Joseph "Joe" L. Bowen; children, Joey (Jessie) Bowen, Shannon Bowen and Savannah (Jeremy) Bowen-Hall; God son, Julian (Nikkiy) Turner; grandchildren, Taeton, Dayana, Mya, Chloe, Jaycie, Buster, Jedediah, Zoe and Titus; sister, Sandy (Bill) Bonfield and mother and father in law, Barbara (Bobby) Bowen. She was preceded in death by son, Ryan Joseph Bowen and her parents.
Nancy's family will greet friends on Thursday, June 2, 2022 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at the Dove Cremations and Funerals- Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave, Topeka. A celebration of her life will be at 11:00am on Friday, June 3, 2022 at the Dove Southeast Chapel. She will be laid to rest at Stull Cemetery.
