Nancy Cude

Nancy L. Cude, 72, of Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at her home. She was born on May 22, 1936 in Topeka, the daughter of John L. and Susie M. Wood Bennett.

She attended Topeka High School. She was employed as a claims representative for Monarch Insurance for 15 years before retiring. Nancy married James R. Hensley on September 7, 1952 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on April 2, 1982. She married George K. Cude on August 14, 1984 in Pearland, TX. He preceded her in death on January 10, 1992. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Survivors include one son, John Hensley of Severance, KS, four daughters, Janet Machacek of Alvin, TX., Joyce Nagy of Holden, MO, Regena McCoy of Kansas City, MO, Chris Mackey of Kansas City, MO., twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and four siblings, Mildred Maxon of Muskogee, OK, and Mary Robinson, Larry Westerfield and Barbara Lay all of Topeka.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Burial will follow in Topeka Cemetery. Nancy will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the KSU Cancer Center, 1 Chalmers Hall, Manhattan, KS 66506.
