Nancy (Mccaskill) El-Amin

Nancy (McCaskill) El-Amin, 65, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020.

She was born July 22, 1954, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of George and Jean (Spivey) McCaskill.

Nancy graduated from Topeka West High School in 1972 and later went on to attend Kansas State University and received a Bachelor's Degree in Education. She then went on to the University of Kansas and received her Master's Degree in Early Childhood Special Education.

Nancy was employed by Kansas Neurological Institute (KNI) for 14 years, and the USD-501 for 26 years, retiring in 2017.

Nancy was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Topeka. She also held a life time membership with NEA (National Education Association).

Nancy married Fareed M. El-Amin on January 2, 2010 in Topeka, Kansas at Unity of Topeka.

Survivors include her husband, Fareed El-Amin; a brother, George McCaskill of Eskridge, KS; a son, Russell (Janna) Callahan of Denton, Texas; a step-son, Malik (Elizabeth) El-Amin of Topeka, KS; a step-daughter, Sharawn El-Amin of Topeka, KS; six grandsons, Elliott, Bennett, Kameron, Kory, Kaden and Jonah; a granddaughter, Kylah and a host of other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Nancy enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, reading and was a Master Horticulturalist. She especially loved spending time with her family.

Honoring Nancy's request, cremation is planned. Interment of the cremated remains will be Saturday, May 30, 2020 at Mount Hope Cemetery, 4700 SW 17th Street, Topeka. Due to Covid-19 circumstances services will be private. Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka is assisting the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society 5720 SW 21st Topeka, KS 66604-3720.
