Nancy K. Nanninga Dawdy Hazlett, 81, of Topeka, passed away March 23, 2018 at Brewster Place Health Center. She was born February 11, 1937 in Axtell, Kansas, the first of eight children born to Milton and Helen Nanninga. Nancy was graduated from Axtell High School and Emporia State University.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Dawdy. She married Jerry Hazlett in 1966.
Nancy was a reading specialist for USD 501. She was a member of Brookwood Covenant Church, where she served as a teacher and especially enjoyed singing in the church choir.
She is survived by her husband Jerry; her sons: Timothy (Barbara), Steven (Desima), and Mark (Sherilyn); her daughter, Andrea (Brian); grandchildren: James (Elizabeth), Luke (Yesenia), Benjamin, Tyler, Christopher, Matthew, Elise, Jesse, Summer, Arielle and David. Surviving siblings are Karen, Terry and Beth. Also surviving is her best friend, prayer partner and sister-in-law Cherie.
Cremation is planned. The family will receive friends from 1:30PM until the memorial service at 2:30PM, March 31, 2018 at Brookwood Covenant Church, 3601 SW 33rd Street, Topeka, KS. Inurnment will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery following the service.
