Nancy Helen Scott, 93, of Topeka, passed away Friday, March 8, 2013 at her residence at Rolling Hills Assisted Living with her family by her side.
She was born July 9, 1919 in Harrisburg, IL, the youngest of six children of Mike and Frances (Androkaunis) Drutis. She was a graduate of Harrisburg High School. She moved from Pontiac, MI to Topeka in 1961.
Nancy married Frank L. Scott on July 30, 1939 in Kentucky. He preceded her in death on December 28, 1988. Survivors include a son, Danny A. Scott, Marietta, GA; a daughter-in-law, Marceline Scott-Revelle; five grandchildren, Wendy (Chuck) Gatewood, Lisa Scott, Michelle (James) Forbes, Daniel J. Scott, and Megan (Kurt) Apel; nine great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Michael C. Scott on August 1, 1999, three brothers, Joe, Tony and Barney Drutis and two sisters, Anna Broadway and Frances Estrup.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at the Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Topeka. Nancy will lie in state after 3 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m.
