Nancy Roseberry, 84, of Tecumseh, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Brewster Place.
She was born on April 9, 1933 in Willacoochee, Georgia, the twelfth of thirteen children to Mose and Mary (Lott) Metts.
After high school in Winter Garden, Florida, she moved to the Kansas City area with her first husband, Robert Kelly. They had three children: Robert Kelly (Dianna) of McPherson, KS, Susan Douglass (Corey) of Perry, KS, and Carol Kelly of Naples, FL. A subsequent marriage to Robert Plummer produced two daughters: Jennie Newbrand (Kurt) of Corinth, TX and Mary Plummer of Topeka. On September 3, 1988, Nancy married Garland Roseberry; he survives. Nancy has six grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.
A loving mother and talented homemaker known for her artistic gifts and gardening skills, Nancy also did extensive investigation into her family's genealogy in the years when such research was conducted in libraries and not via computer.
A funeral ceremony will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave, Topeka. Interment will follow at Zion Cemetery, Tecumseh, KS. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
