Naomi Ruth Thompson, 70, Topeka, went to be with the Lord on Easter Sunday, March 23, 2008.
Naomi was born January 1, 1938 in New Carlisle, OH, the daughter of Philip E. and Clara Ada (Nichols) Compton. She was raised in Weeping Water, NE.
She worked for House of Bauers, Russell Stover and Tri-Con Industries in Lincoln, NE., retiring in 1998.
She was a member of Wanamaker Woods Church of the Nazarene.
Naomi married Creed Badders in 1960. They later divorced. She married Verne E. Thompson on December 4, 1997. He survives. Other survivors include daughters, Deb Detwiler and husband, Larry, Topeka, KS, Diane Newbrey, Wichita, KS, Denise Badders, Nantucket, MA; sons, James Badders and wife, Kathleen, Wichita, KS, Jeffrey Badders, Phoenix, AZ; grandhildren, Alex Detwiler, Ashley Badders, Heather Badders, Tommy Newbrey, Elijah Newbrey, Nickie Bailey, Tiffany Newbrey; great grandchildren, Lilyanna, Tristen, Kaelyn, Alex Jr., Guillieta; brother, Robert Compton and wife, Joyce, San Diego, CA.; and sister-in-law, Ann Elliott and husband, Bud, Raymond, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mary.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 28, 2008 at Wanamaker Woods Church of the Nazarene. Graveside inurnment services will be held at 4:30 p.m. at the Oak Creek Valley Cemetery in Raymond, Nebraska. A visitation will be held at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel on Thursday, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
