Nellie Nordstrom

Nellie "Jerry" Nordstrom, 92, of Tecumseh, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2005 at a Topeka care facility. She was born on May 26, 1913 in Linwood, KS, the daughter of William and Elizabeth Holmes Elder. She graduated from Linwood High School. She came to Topeka in 1934. She was a bookkeeper for Elmer Nordstrom Construction for 35 years and a homemaker. She was a member of the Victory Highway Club, Happy Homemakers, Evangeline Chapter No. 162, O.E.S. for over 70 years and the HDU Extension Group. She married Elmer Nordstrom on October 10, 1937 in Lawrence. He survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Marcia Lou Nordstrom of Tecumseh. She was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery. Mrs. Nordstrom will lie in state after 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Memorial contributions may be given to Tecumseh United Methodist Church, 334 S.E.
