Nellouise Tyler, 88, died January 17, 2016, in Topeka. She was born August 13, 1927, in Pottawatomie County, Kansas, the youngest of Albert and Nellie (Dawe) Marten's six children. Nellouise's siblings preceded her in death: sister Reva Ebert and brothers Lester, Robert, Willard, and Dale Marten.
Nellouise attended Wamego High School where she met her future husband, Al Tyler. They were married March 5, 1946, in Wamego and moved to Topeka after Al's service in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Nellouise worked at Security Benefit Life Insurance Company for 26 years, retiring in 1991, and after taking a short retirement, she went to work again for the Jones Store in Topeka. Nellouise was a member of North Rock Baptist Church. She loved her church, her family, and watching KU sports. She rarely missed a game to support her Jayhawks. During retirement, Nellouise and Al toured the United States and Canada, seeing California, the Grand Canyon, Washington, D.C., and other sites along the East Coast.
In 2010, Nellouise and Al moved to Topeka's Presbyterian Manor and she leaves behind many cherished friends met while residing at the Manor.
Al preceded Nellouise in death in 2015. She is survived by daughter, Leigh E. Conrad (Don) and two sons, Rick (Chris) and Jeff (Patricia). Nellouise is also survived by two grandsons, Matt (Courtny), Nathan (Angela) and three great grandchildren, Madison, Austin, and Trenton.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2016 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker, Topeka. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Good Samaritan Fund of Topeka Presbyterian Manor, 4712 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka 66606.
