Neva Jane Beeson, 59, of Soldier, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born on February 3, 1947 in Topeka, the daughter of Walter F. and Pearl E. Sterrett Johnston. She graduated from Topeka High School in 1965. She had resided in Topeka before moving to Soldier in 2004. She was employed by Kelley Assisted Living and was also a homemaker. She also played the piano for both churches and different organizations. She was a former member of Seward Avenue Baptist Church for 21 years and then later became a member of South Knollwood Baptist Church. Neva married Geary L. Beeson on March 4, 1967 in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include her mother, Pearl E. Johnston of Quinter, two sons, Geary Beeson, Jr. of Topeka, Larry Beeson of Willimgton, NC, two daughters, Tammy Lovvorn of Holton, Kimmie Tannehill of Topeka, seven grandchildren, two brothers and one sister. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Burial will follow. Neva will lie in state after 1:00 p.m. Sunday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel, 2843 S.E.
