Nona Mae Drennon, 96, of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born April 11, 1928 in Hobart, Oklahoma, the daughter of Luther L. and Mary Ann (Wiekle) Beach.
Nona graduated from Atchison County Community High School. She was employed by the Department of Human Resources for 17 years before retiring. She was a member of the Highland Park United Methodist Church.
Nona married Raymond R. Drennon on May 27, 1949 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on July 12, 2019. She was also preceded in death by two grandsons, Barry and Travis Drennon and her seven siblings.
Survivors include children, Robert (Joyce) Drennon of Wichita, Alan Drennon of Topeka, Richard Drennon of Topeka, Mary Ann Kenyon of Topeka, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
A Celebration of Nona's Life and her husband, Raymond, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 23, 2024 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Inurnment will follow in Topeka Cemetery.
Nona's service will be livestreamed at the scheduled service time.
