Norma F. McEnroe, 80, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014. She was born February 7, 1934, in Burlington, Kansas, the daughter of Edgar and Mary (Williamson) Woods. Norma was raised in Burlington and graduated from Burlington High School.
Norma married Harlon R. McEnroe on January 17, 1953 in Topeka. He preceded her in death. Norma worked for Southwestern Bell as an operator, but left to be a full-time mother and housewife. Later she returned to work as clerk at a convenience store until she retiring in February of 1999. She also worked for the Election Board at polling locations.
Norma enjoyed watching golf, reading, working crossword puzzles, and she loved her dogs.
Norma is survived by her children, Kelli A. McEnroe and Matthew H. McEnroe (Debora), of Topeka; sisters, Doris Davis (James) of Abeline, KS, Carol Shelton (James) of Overland Park, KS and Cheryl Pulford (Houston) of Topeka, KS. She is preceded in death by her parents, her twin daughters, and husband, Harlon.
Per her wishes, Norma was cremated. A visitation to share and celebrate her life will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m., Friday, March 7th at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th Ave. in Topeka. A private family inurnment will be held at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Topeka, Kansas.
