Norma Jean Dolezilek, 84, Topeka, went to meet her Lord and Savior, on January 7, 2012. She was born February 6, 1928 in Topeka, the daughter of Willis F. and Hazel (Oldham) Crites.
She graduated from Topeka High School and attended Washburn University.
She worked for several year at Santa Fe Railroad as a clerk until she quit to start her family.
She had been a member of First Assembly of God Church since age 7, where she taught Sunday school, Bible Studies, sang in the choir and was involved in Women's ministries. Most recently she was involved in Prime Timers.
Norma married Harold "Bud" Dolezilek on June 26, 1949. He died March 15, 2010. Survivors include their children, Steven (Debbie) Dolezilek, Pam Dolezilek, Phil Dolezilek and Stephany (Stephen) Hopkins; three granddaughters, Cherie Hopkins, Ashley (Phil) Turman, Michelle (Chris) Galvan; and three great-grandsons, Brennan and Caleb Clark, Riley Galvan.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 11, 2013 at First Assembly of God Church. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Norma will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road after 2:00 p.m. on Thursday and visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
