Norma Jean Freeborn

Norma Jean (Baird) Freeborn, 77, Topeka, died Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Aldersgate Village.

She was born December 1, 1933 in Topeka, the daughter of William A. and Florence Landon Baird. She was raised in Topeka, graduating from Topeka High School in 1951. She then attended Washburn University where she was affiliated with Delta Gamma Sorority.

Norma worked as a teller for National Bank of Topeka and later as a bookkeeper for Don Lumpe & Co. She was a member of First Christian Church.

She married Dallas W. Freeborn on October 5, 1963 in Topeka. He survives. From this union came two children, Robert Baird Freeborn of State College, PA and Tamara (Aaron) Lorenzen of Leawood, KS.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel with interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Norma will lie in state from noon to 8:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.
