Norma Jean Gordon, 76, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Rolling Hills Health Center. She was born January 12, 1937 In Westmoreland, KS the daughter of Elmer and Nellie (Maskill) Lundgren.
Norma was raised in Alma and Westmoreland and graduated from Westmoreland High School in 1955. She married Rollie "Poncho" Gordon on November 7, 1955. She worked both as a switchboard operator and administrative assistant for over 26 years at St. Francis Health Center in Topeka. Norma enjoyed fishing, gardening, bird watching, and anything outdoors. She was talented at crocheting, quilting, and sewing, even making her children's clothes. She was an avid reader of all types of literature. More than anything, Norma loved her family, and she was an incredible woman who will be dearly missed by anyone who knew her.
Norma is survived by her sons, Wayne Gordon and Michael Scott Gordon; three grandchildren, Chris, Cheryl, and Cory; and great-grandchildren, Makenzie, Makaden, Angie, and Aiden. She is preceded in death by her husband, and four brothers, John, Arthur, Roy and Donnie Lundgren.
Per her wishes, Norma was cremated. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 17, at Northside Church of Christ, 555 NW 46th St. Topeka, KS 66617. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
