Olive M. Brumm, 92, Topeka, passed away March 4, 2011. She was born October 19, 1918, in Lillis, Kansas, the daughter of Robert M. and Lota Mae (Tate) Smith. She was a 1936 graduate of Vermillion Rural High School in Vermillion, Kansas. On September 13, 1938, in Holton, Kansas, she married Erskine Caryl Brumm. He preceded her in death in 1998. Olive had worked for many years for the State of Kansas Department of Revenue, retiring in 1982. She was a member of Crestview United Methodist Church in Topeka, Eastern Star Cordelia Chapter, and loved making quilts and traveling.
Survivors include her children, Sharon Holman of Raymore, MO, Carlene (Jim) Shepard of Michigan City, IN, Terry Brumm of O'Fallon, IL, Jackie (Roger) Gilbert of Topeka, KS, and Jill Ward of Tucson, AZ; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandson. She is also survived by a sister, Ilene Woltkamp, of Ocean Shores, WA.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers, five sisters, and one son in law.
Mrs. Brumm was cremated. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2011, at Crestview United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
