Orval John Graber

Orval John Graber, 96, of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2009 at a Topeka retirement community. He was born on May 2, 1913 in Moundridge, the son of Edward J. and Esther Krehbiel Graber. He graduated from Moundridge High School in 1929. He went to work for Moundridge Milling Company and eventually was Traffic Manager until 1959. Orval then went to work for C.G.F. Grain in 1959 as House Grain Inspector in charge of quality control until retiring in 1976. He had resided in Topeka since September 0f 1959. He was a member of Susanna Wesley United Methodist Church. Orval married Vera M. Davis on October 31, 1937 in Moundridge. She survives. Other survivors include one son, Vaughn R. Graber of Silver Lake, one daughter, Beverly J. Salsbury of Topeka, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one brother, Byron E. Graber of Denver, CO, and one sister, Nola D. Myers of Burlington, KS. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in Wesley Hall at Aldersgate Village. Private inurnment will take place in West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be given to Susanna Wesley United Methodist Church, 7433 S.W. 29th St., Topeka, KS 66614 or to Midland Care Hospice Services, 200 S.W. Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606. Dove Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
