Pamela Jane Thompson
Pamela J. Thompson (nee Orloff) passed away in her sleep on Saturday, January 15, 2005 in Topeka, KS. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11am Friday, January 21st at Newcomer Family Funeral Home, 4020 SW 6th Ave. in Topeka. Graveside service will follow at 1:30 pm at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Zeandale, KS.
She was born February 5th, 1959 in Hutchinson, Minnesota to James S. and Frances H. (Boller) Orloff. She grew up in Manhattan, KS and graduated from Manhattan High School in 1977.
After high school she became a welding inspector and worked at several regional nuclear power plants, including the construction of Wolf Creek. She subsequently returned to school, attending Kansas State University and graduating Magna Cum Laude from Washburn University's nursing program.
Over the last several years she worked hospice to comfort over 200 people who were making their final journey.
She is survived by her daughter Amber Thompson of the home. Other survivors include sister Dianne Lambert of Colorado Springs, CO, sister Susan Atchison of Fort Collins, CO, brother Brian Orloff of Baldwin City, KS, and ten nieces and nephews.
