Pastor Clark Johnson, 73, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, September 23, 2018.
He was born April 30, 1945, in Phoenix, Arizona, the son of John William and Manelle (Davis) Johnson. He received Bachelor's Degrees in Speech and Biology from Northern Arizona University.
Pastor Johnson served as Senior Pastor for 40 years, with the last 22 years at First Southern Baptist Church, retiring in 2011.
He served on the Board of Directors for Topeka Rescue Mission and Freedom Now USA.
Clark married Marcia Yvonne Johnson on August 19, 1967 in Flagstaff, AZ. She survives. Other survivors include two children, Brett (Renee) Johnson and Yvonne Murphy; five grandchildren, Jayden and Taylor Johnson, Donovan, Jillian and Delaney Murphy, all of Topeka; and sister, Margaret (John) Vest, Flagstaff, AZ
Clark "Loved his Jesus". He loved spending time with his family and mentoring others. He also was an avid golfer.
Honoring Clark's request, cremation is planned. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 28, 2018 at Fellowship Bible Church, 6800 SW 10th Ave., Topeka 66615. Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel is assisting the family.
