Patricia Ann Tunley, 77, Topeka, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015.
She was born May 31, 1937, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Oris and Irene (Harrison) Tunley. She attended Topeka Public Schools.
Patricia was employed by Pelletier's Department Store in her younger years and later started her own house cleaning business.
At an early age, Patricia accepted Christ as her personal Savior while attending Second Baptist Church. She later became a member of the Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, where she was active on the Mother's Board and Women's Sunday School Class. She also supported many church events.
Some of her favorite pastimes were baking, playing games with her family and embroidery, a skill she enjoyed teaching to others.
Survivors include her brother, Oris F. Tunley, Jr., long and devoted companion of 47 years, Marion Bell both of Topeka and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and five sisters, Bettye-Jean Murrell, Dolores I. Terrell, Eleanor F. Tunley, Shirley V. Jackson and Mercedees N. Cox.
Visitation will begin at 10 am on Friday, March 20 at Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, with funeral services to begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Mount Auburn Cemetery.
