Patricia Hansen

Patricia Hansen, 57, Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at a Topeka hospital.

Pat was born September 16, 1951 in Syracuse, the daughter of Ervin and Venita (Tucker) Helm. She graduated from Greeley County High School in 1969 and Emporia State Teachers College in 1972. She later received a Master's degree in Counseling from Fort Hays State University.

Pat taught English and Speech at Eastern Heights High School and later at Greeley County High School. She was a counselor in Topeka at Robinson Middle School, Auburn Elementary and Landon Middle School. She retired in 2008.

Pat married Neal Hansen on October 16, 1976 in Tribune. He survives. Other survivors include daughters, Monica (Luis) DeJesus, Olathe; Stephanie Hansen, Lenexa; son, Bryan Hansen, Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Eli and Aaron DeJesus; and sister, Janice Harlow, Hutchinson. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 26, 2009 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel. Inurnment will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday evening.
