Patricia I. Debacker

February 1, 1947 — December 18, 2015

Patricia I. (Marsh) DeBacker passed away on December 18, 2015. Patty was born on February 1, 1947 to Donald and Nora Marsh in Holton, KS. They preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband of almost 48 years, Arthur DeBacker; daughter, Nichole S. Andersen of Las Vegas; 5 grandchildren; sister, Donna Antin of Kansas City, MO and many nieces and nephews.

Patty spent most of her life in Topeka, graduated from Topeka West High School, and attended Washburn University.

She retired from the Kansas SRS Department and then worked part-time at the Kansas Historical Society until she became ill.

Patty was a kind, gentle soul who loved her family unconditionally and also her many pets through the years. She fiercely protected animals she saw being mistreated. The birds and other wild animals were always well-fed. She loved to craft and shopping trips with her sister. She also loved history and was transcribing to computer the diaries of Kansas pioneers of interest at the Historical Society.

Many thanks to the caring, capable, and kind staff at Aldersgate, as well as those at Stormont-Vail Hospital. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her.

A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 11, 2016 at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 3601 SW 17th Street, Topeka, KS 66604.
