Patricia L. "Pat" Bump, 73, Topeka, passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Midland Hospice House.
Pat was born December 10, 1938 in Atchison, the daughter of Raymond and Mary (Cole) Bump. She graduated from Atchison High School in 1956 and Northwest Missouri State University. She received her Master's degree in Library science from Emporia State University.
She taught at several Elementary schools in the USD-501 district and was a librarian in several schools, retiring from Shaner Elementary in 2001.
She was a member of Alpha Delta Kapa Teacher's sorority, the Topeka Area Retired School Personnel, and a life member of NEA. She was active in the local NEA.
Survivors include two aunts and several cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Miller Cemetery at Everest, Kansas.
The family suggests expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to the Children's section of the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library, 1515 SW 10th, Topeka, Kansas 66604 or Atchison Public Library, 401 Kansas Avenue, Atchison, Kansas 66002
