Patricia Marian Coker-Jones

Patricia Marian Coker-Jones, 80, passed away October 1, 2017, after a long battle with dementia.

Patricia was born May 31, 1937, the daughter of Glen Marion Burson and Gladys Naomi Bryant, in Longton, Kansas. The family later moved to Topeka. She attended Assumption and graduated from Hayden High School.

On November 28, 1953, she married Clyde Dean Coker. He preceded her in death in January of 1983. She later married Loren Keith Jones and he preceded her in death in January of 1999.

Patricia had been employed by Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Kansas. She was also a corrections officer at both male and female facilities, leading to her graduation into nursing, in which she worked until her retirement.

She is survived by three sons, Michael (Linda) of Topeka, Mitchell of Kansas City, Kansas, and Mark (Carol) of Plano, Texas; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Patricia was cremated. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2017, in Mount Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Great Lakes Caring Hospice or Kelly House of Topeka. Dove Cremation & Funeral Service is assisting the family.
