Dr. Paul Wallace Cochran died on October 5, 2017 at age 84 after struggling with Alzheimer's disease.
Dedicated to medicine and helping people, he pursued his education at Rice University & University of Texas Medical School at Galveston, where he also worked as yearbook editor and photographer. After military service in Germany & many years of private medical practice in Dallas, Dr. Cochran moved with his family to Topeka, to work as an internist for the Menninger Foundation. His family & friends will remember him for his keen sense of humor, his intellectual curiosity & his love of entertaining loved ones with stories. Smart, funny & generous, he always maintained the ability to reframe a problem & find an alternate viewpoint. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary, son Paul, daughter Kay, stepdaughter Laura, daughters-in-law Edie & Alice, son-in-law Stefan and grandchildren Max, Zoe & Luke.
Friends are invited to gather at Penwell-Gabel Midtown Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 2:30 pm to greet the family. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm.
