Paul E. Evans

Paul Eugene Evans, 78, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018.

He was born December 13, 1939, in Lawton, Oklahoma, the son of Andrew B. and Dollie L. (Burkett) Evans. He was a graduate of Grants High School in New Mexico and Kaw Valley Technical School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Paul was employed by the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, later for Adapa Inc., retiring in 2005.

Mr. Evans was a member of First Southern Baptist Church and American Legion.

Paul married Bobbie F. Jones on August 6, 1967 in Ft. Riley, KS. She survives. Other survivors include four children, Vicki (Brad) Allen, Perry, Rick Evans, Topeka, Natalie (Matt) Hill, Brighton, CO and Diane Massey, Topeka; seven grandchildren, Abby Allen, Lindsey Allen, Dustin (Melissa) Hill, Nathan Hill, Jennifer (Dan) Ashford, Rachel (Harlan) Glinski and Blake Massey; great-grandchildren, Kyler, Avery, Ava, Hailey, Taylor, Maddox, Harlan Jr., and one expected, Olanna; and a brother, Calvin (Charlyne) Evans, Cortez, CO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, James Ray Evans.

Paul loved and enjoyed spending time with his family, bowling, stock car racing, gardening and music.

Honoring Paul's request, cremation is planned. A private family graveside memorial ceremony will be held at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery, Manhattan, KS.

Memorial contributions may be made to Eastern Kansas Health Care Center, made to VA Hospital Voluntary Services, 2200 SW Gage, Topeka, KS 66622.
