Paul W. Packer, 84, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, December 10, 2018. He was born April 6, 1934 in Topeka, the son of Paul E. and Ruth J. (Richards) Packer.
Paul graduated from Lecompton High School and was employed as a Firefighter for the City of Topeka before retiring as a Battalion Chief.
Paul married Jo Ann "Jody" Jeffrey. She preceded him in death on August 26, 2013. He was also preceded in death by one son, Les Packer.
Survivors include their children; Christine Cobler, David Packer, Lisa Casto, grandsons; Matt Packer, Jason Cobler, Jared (Tammi) Cobler, Paul Packer, Justin Casto, granddaughters; Danielle Packer, Emily Packer, Jaimie Casto and great-grandchildren; Kaylee Cobler, Peija Cobler, Brayden Cobler, Chase Cobler, Chevi Cobler, Jo'Lisea Anthony and Anya Casto, Lydia Packer Vega and Owen Packer.
As per Paul's wishes, cremation has taken place and no memorial services are planned. The Last Bell Ceremony will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, December 14, 2018 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. and the family will receive friends following the ceremony until 8:00 p.m. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Great Lakes Caring Home Health & Hospice, 3715 SW 29th St., Ste. 100, Topeka, Kansas 66614.
