Paul Robert Reid, 69, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2013.
He was born June 28, 1943 in Horton, KS, the son of Robert Lee and Myrle (Canter) Reid. He attended Hiawatha High School.
Mr. Reid was employed by Stainless Steel Inc. and later was a contract courier for various delivery companies in Topeka.
Paul married Janet Harvey on February 2, 1974 in Hiawatha. She survives of the home. Other survivors include three children, Kenneth J. (Julie) Reid, Salina, Brenda S. (Kelly) Brown, Carbondale, KS and Carrie L. (Glen) Seymour, Berryton, KS; son-in-law, Michael (Roxanne) Donley, 12 grandchildren, Kristina (Pedro) Hernandez, Eli Donley, Joe Donley, Kali Reid, Jennifer Strutz, Seth Fredde, David (Samantha) Brown, Shawn (Tanya) Brown, Nick (Megan) Brown, Brianna Seymour, Baylee Seymour and Colby Seymour; eight great-grandchildren, Lila Brown, Brooklyn Brown, Bryson Brown, Jordan Brown, Carson Brown, Jerald Clifton and Isabella and Stella Hernandez; and a brother, Carl Reid, Hiawatha. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Catherine Donley on December 19, 2004, two great-grandchildren, Zacory Donley, Christian Hernandez, a half-sister, Mary Lee Wenger and two half-brothers, Clarence Reid and Jack Canter.
A funeral ceremony will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1329 SW 37th, Topeka 66611. Paul will lie in state after 3 p.m., Wednesday at the Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 6:30-8 p.m. A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. at the Hiawatha Cemetery, Hiawatha, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church.
