Paula G. Thomas, 92, of Topeka, passed away on August 16, 2022 in Kansas City, Missouri.
She was born in Rehau, Germany the daughter of the late Heinrich and Marie Hasselbacher.
Paula was the eldest of eight children and is survived by two sisters, Dora and Elfreida.
She met her husband, Charles N. Thomas while he was stationed in Germany with the Air Force. They moved back to the United States and started a family together in Albany, Georgia.
Paula was a homemaker the majority of her life. She was also an activities director at a nursing home in Burlingame, KS.
Paula raised four children, Lyndsey P. Essman (Sylvester), Walter N. Thomas (Melinda), Suzanne A. Ritter (Robert) and Steven P. Thomas (Lisa).
After moving to Kansas and settling in Topeka, Paula enjoyed spending time helping to raise her six grandchildren, Kelli, Justin, Charles, Andrew, Scott, Danielle and later having four great grandchildren as well.
Paula enjoyed multiple road trips with her husband as well as trips with her daughter, Suzanne.
There are great memories of Paula (Oma) teaching the grandchildren to swim in her pool.
Paula is greatly missed by family and friends, but by fulfilling her last wishes she can rest peacefully.
