Pauline Adele Chase, 78, of Topeka, formerly of Mulvane, KS, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2009 at a Topeka hospital. She was born on January 26, 1931 in Oelwein, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence and Blanch Shillington Strawn. She was a homemaker to her children until they were older. She then was employed by J.C. Penney for many years. Pauline married Eugene L. Chase on April 26, 1950. They were divorced. Survivors include one son, Daniel E. (Cathy) Chase of Newton, KS, one daughter, Susan C. (Jim) Hogan of Topeka, eight grandchildren, Jason, Jeremy, Danielle, Katie, Josh, Tracy, Jordan and Becky, three great-grandchildren, Zak, Dominic and Alexander, her loving sister, Dee Jacobs of Independence, IA and a half-sister, Barb Hiland of Eddyville, KY. Private memorial services will be held at a later date in Independence, IA. Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel in Topeka, KS is in charge of arrangements.
