Pauline B. Green, 93, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, February 29, 2008 at a Topeka hospital. She was born on September 3, 1914 in Belton, MO, the daughter of Lyle V. and Mary F. Ferguson Baumgardner. She graduated from Belton High School, received her diploma in nursing from Research Hospital in Kansas in 1936, and a Masters degree in Nursing from Avila College in 1959. She attained the rank of Lt. Commander in the U.S. Navy and served as a nurse during WWII. Pauline had a career in public school nursing until her retirement in 1980 as public school nurse consultant for the State of Kansas. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Zonta Club of Topeka. Pauline married James H. Green on April 26, 1946 in Kansas City, MO. He preceded her in death on September 11, 1973. They had one son, James H. Green, Jr. of Topeka who survives. Memorial services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday in Wesley Hall at Aldersgate Village. Private inurnment will take place in Belton Cemetery, Belton, MO. Memorial contributions may be given to the Good Samaritan Fund c/o Aldersgate Village, 7220 S.W. Asbury Dr., Topeka, KS 66614.
