Pearl Thomas of Topeka passed away September 9, 2014. She was born in Franklin County, Kansas near Princeton on July 26, 1913, the daughter of John and Nita Lloyd. She was married to Peter P. Thomas in Pueblo, Colorado. He preceded her in death on February 25, 1975.
Mrs. Thomas graduated from Ottawa High School in 1931 and attended Emporia State Teachers' College. She was a railroad retiree – having worked last for the Santa Fe Railroad in Pueblo, CO. Previous to her railroad employment she had worked for the Kansas Corporation Commission in the early 40's.
She lived out of the state of Kansas over 40 years having returned in November 1985 to make her home in Topeka to be near her sister, Neva Tulloss and brother Earl (Kelly) Lloyd who lived in Ottawa, both are now deceased.
Survivors include her nephew Ronald K. Lloyd of Blue Springs, MO; nieces Rita Beard of Burlington, KS and Carol Pady of Topeka.
She was a member of the Lowman United Methodist Church and the Women's Organization of the church. She belonged to various other organizations and Bridge Clubs.
A memorial service will be held at Lowman United Methodist Church on September 16, 2014 at 1:00 p.m.
Inurnment will be at a later date at the Princeton, Kansas cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or the donor's choice.
