Pearl Louise Figge, 88, Topeka, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, May 1, 2011 at Plaza West from complications of congestive heart failure.
Pearl was born November 29, 1922 in Wichita, the daughter of Forrest and Wilma (O'Brien) Black. She graduated from Cheney High School in 1940 and completed a Bookkeeping course at American Business School in Wichita in 1941.
She worked in Wichita at Midwest Planing Mill until 1953 and Griffin Printing Company from 1956-1968. In September, 1968, Pearl and her family moved to Topeka with Santa Fe Railroad.
She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, where she participated in Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She was also a member of Harmony Lodge # 187, Loyal Star, in Wichita.
Pearl married Reinhold Walter Figge on March 30, 1946 in Wichita. He died January 4, 1998. Survivors include daughter, Cathryn Kissling and husband, John, Topeka; granddaughters, Stacy Holton and husband, Regan, Dallas, TX, Kristen Bellamy and husband, Jon, Houston, TX; and great-granddaughter, Cameron Louise Bellamy.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Faith Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Pearl will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road after 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday and visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.
