Peggy A. Latter, 76, of Topeka, passed away Monday, June 30, 2014.
She was born May 10, 1938 in Strong City, Kansas, the daughter of Edward Oliver and Leona Esther (Spence) Burton. She was a 1956 graduate of Reading High School and graduated from Clark's Business School in Topeka.
Peggy was employed by the Santa Fe Railroad in Topeka for 37 years, before retiring in 1994.
She attended Grace United Methodist Church, Topeka and former member of Top-Kan Square Dance Club.
Peggy married Gene Latter on June 15, 1973 in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include a son, David (Ellen) Bridgewater, Wichita, KS; two grandsons, Joseph and Kyle Bridgewater; two siblings, Ed (Synda) Burton, Fishers, IN and Jerry (Jennifer) Burton, Marshall, TX and several nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Joe Burton.
Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial ceremony will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at the Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Private inurnment will be at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Topeka.
