Penney J. Gisi, 48, of Topeka, passed away Friday, December 31, 2021.
She was born July 2, 1973, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of George and Marjorie (Hart) Gisi.
Penney graduated from Seaman High School in 1991. She went on to attend Washburn University.
Penney was employed by the State of Kansas for approximately two years. She previously worked for Capital Federal for sixteen years.
She was a member of Faith Family Life Centre in Topeka. She volunteered for Let's Help, Inc., Harvesters, Topeka Rescue Mission and Restore Food Pantry.
Survivors include her parents; her siblings, Patricia (Ron) Corbin of Topeka, Janet (Daryl) Moon of Pillager, MN, David (Tammy) Gisi of Granger, IN, Michelle Gisi of Arizona, Jonathan Gisi of Des Moines, IA, Jennifer (Jason) Frickey of Topeka, Michael (Juanita) Gisi of St. Joseph, MO, Grace (Adam) Russo of Colorado Springs, CO, Daniel Gisi of Topeka, Jason Gisi of Topeka and Geordan Gisi of Topeka. She was "Aunt Nin" to twenty-three nieces and nephews and nineteen great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; her uncle and his wife, Robert (Sharon) Gisi and a cousin, Michael Gisi.
Penney enjoyed arts, crafts, classic movies, history and was an avid writer. She also enjoyed volunteering and working as a children's church leader at Faith Family Life Centre. Her passion was her family and helping others.
Honoring Penney's request, cremation is planned. A Celebration of Penney's Life will be held 2:00 pm, Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Faith Family Life Centre, 3710 NW Topeka Blvd., Topeka, KS 66617.
Dove Cremations and Funerals - Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd., Topeka, KS 66610 is assisting the family.
Inurnment of Penney's cremated remains will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery, 4700 SW 17th St., Topeka, KS 66604 at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Family Life Centre, 3710 NW Topeka Blvd., Topeka, KS 66617 c/o Children's Ministry.
