Perry F. Washington Jr.

Mr. Perry F. Washington Jr. was born on December 3, 1946, to Perry Washington Sr. and Hazel Eddington in Topeka, Kansas. He was raised by his grandmother Rebecca Washington and lived with his aunt Bert Williamson. Mr. Washington graduated from Topeka High School in 1964, moved to Chicago, and joined the Navy. While in the Navy, he received The Receiving Presidential Unit Citation (RVAH11), National Defense Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device. After retiring from the Navy, Mr. Washington returned to Topeka, Kansas and worked for the railroad.

Mr. Washington married Victoria Harold in August 1986. As a result of this union Mr. Washington is the father of daughters Cori Washington of Pittsburg, California, Martha Carr (John) and son Donald (Doreen) Henderson Jr., both of Topeka, Kansas. The couple resided in the Topeka area managing the family business, Family Living Inc., which aided in the care of the developmentally challenged, until retirement in 2012. Both were recognized as pillars in the family and the community, giving of their time and talents while loving one another.

Mr. Washington attended Truevine Missionary Baptist church with his wife. The couple enjoyed fishing, traveling, and playing Bid Wiz. He also enjoyed his family, spending time with his grandson John Carter II, teaching him how to fish, work on mowers and their special time of going to Mad Jack's Fresh Fish in Kansas City, Kansas.

Mr. Washington is proceeded in death by his loving wife, Victoria, parents, and grandparents. He leaves to mourn and cherish his memories, his children, grandchildren John Carter II, Topeka, Ks., Danielle Revely, Kansas City, Ks., Shamari Washington-Pitre and Malik Pitre both of Pittsburg, California; great grandchildren True Love Victoria Revely, Kansas City, Ks., Navaeh Pitrey and Nyriah Pitrey of Pittsburg, Ca. Sister-in-law Patricia Haney, Topeka, Ks; Cousins Brenda Smith, Arkansas, Jonell Gordon, Nebraska, Kay Perkins, and Christie Smith of Texas; Special nieces Gene' (Henry) Henderson, Colorado Springs, Co., Katherine Cushinberry, Havelock, NC., and a special nephew Michael Harold, Topeka, KS and a host of other family members, relatives and friends.

Services will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Truevine Missionary Baptist Church, 307 SE Tefft St., Topeka, KS 66607.
