Petra Priestley

Petra Pineda Priestley, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2005 at home in Tecumseh, KS., following a long illness.

Petra was born June 29, 1931 in San Antonio, TX., the daughter of Anselmo J. and Mary D. Pineda.

She is survived by her sister, Rita P. and brother in law Alfred Zertuche of San Antonio. A brother, Anselmo Jr., preceded her in death.

Petra was married to Fernando D. Fernandez and spent a number of years residing in Germany and France as a result of her husbands military service. Two children, a son , Richard P. Fernandez, Tecumseh and a daughter, Lydia P. F. French, Milford, were born to this couple.

Petra remarried in 1994 to Richard L. Priestley of Tecumseh, he survives. She is also survived by five grandchilden.

As a lover of God's creatures, both great and small, through her soothing voice and gentle ways, Petra has served as both mother and protector of countless animals and birds under her care. Coaxing the utmost beauty from flowering plants has also been one of Petra's lifelong passions. She will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Petra will be cremated at her request with a private service for family and friends to follow.
