Philip Wayne Neeley, Topeka, passed away November 19, 2016 at 6:48 am of complications with pneumonia, surrounded by his loved ones.

Philip was born near Harveyville, KS to George W. and Elva Blanche Hutson Neeley on December 9, 1928. He graduated from Harveyville High School in the class of 1946. He married LaRita Dunn on June 17, 1951 in Burlingame, KS. He was very proud to have served as a sergeant in the US Army during the Korean conflict from 1951 to 1953, with the Good Conduct medal, National Defense service medal, Korean Service medal, United Nations Service medal, and Republic of Korea War Service medal awarded to him in 2007. Philip and LaRita raised their four sons in Silver Lake, KS, where the couple lived until 2014 before relocating to Topeka.

Philip is survived by his loving wife of 65 years as well as their sons and their families. Their sons are David, Howard Dale, Philip, and Donald. David and his wife Jeannie, of Topeka, have 2 children, Catherine and Christopher. Catherine and her husband Craig Erwin, who serves in the US Air Force, live in Navarre, FL with their 5 children, Paul, Grace, Constance, David, and George. Christopher and his wife Andrea live in Hays, KS with their 2 children, Rowan and Solomon. Dale and his wife Laura, of Burlingame, have 3 daughters. Amanda and her husband Andrew Havens, who is in the US Coast Guard, live in Vidalia, LA with their 4 daughters, Victoria, Olivia, Chloe, and Lillian. Janette and her husband Albert Feldkamp live in Silver Lake with their two daughters, Ember and Brooklyn. Rebecca and her husband Bradley Zerr farm in Park, KS with their daughter Sophia. Phil and his wife Sheila, of Parkville, MO, have 3 children. Charles Joshua and his wife Jesyca live in Kansas City, MO with their son Carson. Jacob and his girlfriend Jessika live in Kansas City, MO. Jordan works as RN at the VA Hospital in Nashville, TN. Don and his wife Melissa, of Hendersonville, TN, have 2 daughters. Holly Ann attends Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. Heather, who recently graduated Beech High School, lives with her parents.

Services for Philip will be at the Silver Lake United Methodist Church on Wednesday, November 23 at 1:30 pm. En lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Silver Lake United Methodist Church Youth Group in his memory.
