Phyllis Ann Varner, 75, of Berryton, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Brookside Manor in Overbrook. She was born on February 5, 1935 in Topeka, the daughter of Victor and Laura Lundquist. She graduated from Burlingame High School.
She has resided in the Berryton community for most of her life. She was employed by the Colmery-O'Neil VA Medical Center during the 1960's. She later went to work for the Kansas Army National Guard Helicopter Unit at Forbes Field before retiring in 1977.
Phyllis married Dick S. Varner on February 5, 1959. He survives. Other survivors include one son, Richard Varner, one daughter, Jennie Varner, two grandchildren, Justin and Whitney, three sisters; Mary, Dorothy, Janice and two brothers; Larry and John.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Burial will follow in Lynn Creek Cemetery southeast of Topeka. Phyllis will lie in state from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
