Phyllis J. Myers, 76, Topeka, passed away Monday, March 16, 2015 at Midland Hospice House.
Phyllis was born March 18, 1938 in Topeka, the daughter of Harley and Esther (Morris) Roberts. She graduated from Enterprise Academy in Enterprise and Stormont-Vail School of Nursing.
She worked as a L.P.N. at St. Francis Hospital, for Drs. Tappen, Roy & Gleason, as a Surgical nurse at Stormont-Vail, and later at the Orthopedic Clinic of Sports Medicine. She worked at Stitching Traditions after she retired from nursing. Phyllis also provided childcare for Southwest Topeka Bible Church for many years.
She was a member of Wanamaker Seventh-Day Adventist Church, and the Quilt Guild.
Phyllis married James Myers on June 9, 1963 in Topeka. Survivors include daughter, Wilma Myers; son, Loren Myers; brother, James Roberts, all of Topeka; and numerous family members. She was preceded in death by her husband.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 23, 2015 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road. Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday.
