Precious R. Crowder, 74, of Topeka, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at Merriam Gardens in Merriam, Kansas. She was born October 3, 1945 in Cass County, Texas, the daughter of Joseph and Lottie (Hunter) Whetstone.
Precious graduated from Booker T. Washington Carver High School in Naples, Texas in 1963 and earned a Business Degree form Delmar College in Corpus, Christi, Texas. She was employed by the Colmery-O'Neil VA Medical Center.
Precious married Charles E. Crowder on September 7, 1965 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on March 31, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Daphne and her siblings, Josephine Clayton, Charles Whetstone, Lute Whetstone and Willie Smith.
Survivors include children, Troy (Trudy) Crowder of Shawnee, Kansas, Yvette (Rufus) Dean of Topeka, seven grandchildren, Mason, Myles, Morgan, Monya, Braden, Jaden and Jace, two great-grandchildren, Myles Jr. and Maeve and her siblings, Billy Whetstone, Bob Whetstone, Clyde Whetstone, Lois Conway and Wilma Hubbard.
Private graveside inurnment services will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Vitas Hospice, 8527 Bluejacket Drive., Lenexa, Kansas 66214.
