Price Russell Smith, 71, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024.
He was born July 11, 1953, in Emporia, Kansas, the son of Norman “Corky” and Liz (Price) Smith. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1971 and later attended Washburn University. He attended VoTech and obtained his plumbing license.
Price was employed by Latta-Whitlow, City of Topeka and Home Depot.
Price married Julia K. Fike in 1975. From this union, they had two children. They would later divorce. Price then married Kate Harding, they divorced and then he reunited with his middle school girlfriend, Peggy Cox.
Survivors include daughter, Jennifer Bombardier, son, Brandon (Nichole) Smith; grandchildren, Ella, Isaac and Emerson; brother, Jeff Smith of California and sister, Martha Smith of Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and long-time partner, Peggy Cox.
Price was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed hunting, KU basketball, baseball and watching old westerns.
Price’s wishes were for cremation. A memorial gathering will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 2, 2024 at Dove Cremations & Funerals Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka.
