R. Greg Scott

R. Greg Scott, 67, of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2017.
He was born on September 6, 1950 in Topeka, KS to John F. Scott and Georgia M. (Sherrill) Scott.
He grew up in Topeka, KS, and graduated from Topeka High School in 1968. He went on to attend Washburn University. He worked for New York Life Insurance Company as an Investment Advisor for over 35 years.
Greg loved woodworking, being outside, and spending time with his family and friends.
He married Theresa E. (Alday) Scott on August 14, 1993 in Topeka, KS. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Robert (Lynn) Scott, of Topeka, KS; a daughter, Haley (Sean) Coughlin, of Springfield, MO; a brother, John (Linda) Scott, of Topeka, KS; and grandchildren, Tanner Scott, Tatum Scott, Conner Scott, Madison Scott-Hicks, and Natalia Coughlin.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at the Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road, Topeka.
Memorial contributions in his honor may be made to the Helping Hands Humane Society, or to Boy Scouts of America.
