Rachel Evelyn Fagan, 92, Topeka, Kansas, passed away Monday, February 5, 2018 at Aldersgate Village, one day prior to her 93rd birthday.
Rachel was born in Topeka on February 6, 1925 to Todd William and Libbie Anna Fagan. She was a lifelong resident of Topeka, graduating from Topeka High School in 1943. She worked in the Car Service Department at the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad Company, retiring after 44 years of service in 1987.
Rachel was a member of and past president of Santa Fe Retired Employees Club. She was active with the Shepherd's Center, serving as their Chaplain.
Rachel was an active member of First Presbyterian Church. She began attending Sunday School at Redden Chapel, a Mission Church of First Presbyterian in 1927 and became a member in 1940. She volunteered in many capacities including Pre-K Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, "Ace" Office Volunteer, Deacon, and several other positions within Presbyterian Women. She was named as the First Presbyterian Church "Super Person" in 2001.
Rachel was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her church family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 12, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church, 817 SW Harrison. Burial will be in the Camp Ground Cemetery in Greenville, Illinois on Thursday, February 15, 2018.
